Who is a Settlement Class Member?
People are included in the settlement if they reside within the United States and own and have in their possession a JOOLA “Gen 3” Pickleball Paddle (or a substantially complete Gen 3 Paddle).
Anyone who accepted JOOLA’s prior offer to tender or return the Gen 3 paddle is not part of the settlement class, unless the Gen 3 paddle holder had more than one Gen 3 paddle and they did not return all their paddles. In that case, they may still be included for the paddles that they did not previously return.
What does the settlement provide?
JOOLA agreed to compensate all Class Members who properly return their authentic Gen 3 Paddles as required by the Settlement Agreement. The amount you receive depends on whether you have proof of Original Purchase from a qualifying retailer.
- With proof of purchase, Paddle Holders are included as a “Category 1” Settlement Class Member and can receive a refund of $300.
- Without proof of purchase or the settlement administrator determines that your proof of purchase is not from a qualifying retailer, Paddle Holders are included as a “Category 2” Settlement Class Member and can receive a $150 one-time gift code to be used on www.joola.com.
How do I submit a Claim Form for Settlement Consideration?
Settlement Class Member must submit a Claim Form to be eligible to receive Settlement Consideration. Claims Forms are available for download or online submission at www.SportSquadPaddleSettlement.com. Claim Forms must be submitted online or by mail postmarked no later than December 15, 2025.
What are my other options?
- Do Nothing: Paddle Holders who no nothing will not be eligible for a payment, will be legally bound by the settlement, and will release claims against JOOLA.
- Opt-Out: Paddle Holders can get out of the settlement, they will not get any money from the settlement, but they keep the right to sue for the claims resolved by this settlement. The deadline to Opt-Out is December 15, 2025.
- Object : Paddle Holders may tell the Court that they do not like something about the settlement by submitting an objection. If you submit an objection, you remain in the settlement and are eligible for payment. The deadline to object isDecember 15, 2025. More information on how to opt-out or object to the settlement is on www.SportSquadPaddleSettlement.com.
Do I have a lawyer in this case?
Yes, the Court appointed Boies Schiller Flexner LLP, Edwards Henderson PLLC, and Aiman-Smith & Marcy, PC to represent you and other Settlement Class Members. You will not be charged directly for these lawyers; instead, the Attorneys’ Fees and Expenses awarded, subject to Court approval, will be no more than $790,000, to be paid by Defendant and Service Awards of $10,000 for the two named Plaintiffs who brought the lawsuits (which would be paid out of Class Counsel’s award of Attorneys’ Fees and Expenses and will not affect Settlement Class Members’ right to monetary relief). If you want to be represented by your own lawyer, you may hire one at your own expense.
The Court is scheduled to hold a Final Approval Hearing on January 27, 2026, at 2:00pm ET, to consider whether to approve the settlement, and the Attorneys’ Fees and Expenses. You may appear at the hearing, either yourself or through an attorney hired by you, but you don’t have to.
