Brian Michael Bendis and Mike Deodato created Riri Williams. She first appeared in Invincible Iron Man #7. (2016). When readers first met Riri, she was a 15-year-old prodigy who had been accepted to MIT. As a fun challenge, Riri decided to reverse engineer Tony Stark’s technology.
Williams was able to create her own Iron Man armour, but she was expelled as a result. Riri had stolen some materials from the school lab to make the armour, which drew the attention of campus security.
It didn’t matter because Riri had decided to start a new career as a superhero now that she had her own Iron Man armour. Her early exploits drew Tony Stark’s attention, and he arrived at Riri’s house. To Riri’s surprise, Stark gave his blessing and offered to help her in any way he could. Riri’s mother, Ronnie, was terrified of the danger her daughter would face, but she reluctantly agreed to let her continue.
Tony Stark was presumed dead following the events of Civil War II (2016). Riri Williams was cast as the main character in the reboot of Invincible Iron Man. Riri acted as Iron Man unofficially until she chose the name Ironheart.
For a time, she was assisted by an artificial intelligence version of Tony Stark’s consciousness. Ironheart eventually became a member of the Champions, a group of other young heroes. Ironheart received her own solo title in 2018.
Riri, like her MCU counterpart, becomes friends with Shuri of Wakanda. Riri first met Shuri when she travelled to Wakanda to stop the Ten Rings secret society. The young prodigies initially clashed, but their friendship grew stronger throughout the Ten Rings conflict. Riri maintains close ties to Wakanda and has returned to the country on numerous occasions to assist them.

It would be difficult to top Dominique Thorne’s November: she finished filming on her new Disney+ series “Ironheart,” and she makes her Marvel superhero debut in “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.”
As Riri Williams in “Wakanda Forever”, Thorne, an inventive 19-year-old gearhead and MIT student, battles alongside Wakandan heroes such as Shuri (Letitia Wright) and Okoye (Danai Gurira) in her own armoured creation, she flies high and delivers the biggest breakout in an iron suit since Robert Downey Jr.’s Tony Stark. But it’s only a taste of the character Marvel Cinematic Universe fans will see when Riri leads the cast of “Ironheart,” which premieres next year.
Powers and Skills of Ironheart
Riri Williams is a super-genius-level engineer and a child prodigy. Her armour is just as high-tech as Stark’s, and she had his digitised mind in the form of an AI to teach her how to use it best. Ironheart can fly because she has thrusters in her hands and feet. Riri designed and built all of her weapons, which include explosive repulsor grenades, laser beams, precision missiles, and much more.
Thanos destroyed Riri’s suit, so she made Ironheart 3.0 with a design that was different from Iron Man’s classic red and gold. She is always tinkering with engineering and adding new technology, like an experimental stealth mode and solar power cells.
Ironheart caught the attention of the Champions, a young team that included Miles Morales and Kamala Khan, right away. Riri didn’t have many friends, so she was nervous about joining them at first, but it didn’t take long for her to fit in.
As part of the team, her adventures took her all over the world, into space, and even to a different dimension. Her ideas and ability to think quickly made her an important part of the team.
She went off on her own for a while and then went back to M.I.T., where she built a new AI that looked like the friend she had lost. But a new law that said teenagers couldn’t be superheroes brought her back to the Champions. Together, they figured out how to live in the new world.
